Your responsibility
Enablement of Embedded Platforms: You will be part of the Advantech’s European Engineering and Technology Center in Munich, with focus on providing tailored and optimized computing solutions based on latest microprocessor technologies. Together with the team, you help customers in all kinds of verticals to innovate faster. More complex solutions involve close collaboration with other engineering teams to build best-in-class products.
- Linux kernel / user space development for x86 and RISC architectures.
- Develop Linux Board Support Packages (BSPs) for Advantech Embedded standard and custom products.
- Integrate middleware, custom features and 3rd party software components or frameworks.
- Bring up support for new products, unit and regression testing.
- Architecture, interface and source code documentation.
- Expert level support for local troubleshooting and bug fixing for Linux in collaboration with our FAEs.
- Compile and analyze customer software requirements.
- Create software implementation concepts and specifications.
- Make proposals and concepts for meeting new requirements and for optimization of the software development process.
- Present Advantech’s software expertise in front of customers and partners.
- Cooperation with colleagues in the parent company in Taiwan, specifically the related product divisions as well as software teams.
Who are you?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree electrical engineering, software engineering or computer science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a SW development or comparable position.
- Ability to understand highly complex system architectures and application frameworks including hardware and software.
- Software knowledge with a focus on the Linux operating system.
- Experience with both regular Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu) as well as Embedded Linux (Yocto).
- Profound programming skills in C/C++ and scripting languages.
- Good understanding of software engineering processes, frameworks and tools like Azure Devops, Git, Redmine.
- Knowledge in the area of industrial PC architecture including x86 and RISC platforms.
- Experienced in version control, life cycle management, licensing, security, etc.
- Self-driven, communication skills, team player and customer orientation.
- Experience in SW team leadership or SW project management is a plus.
- Fluent English – spoken and in writing.
